Voluntary Water Restrictions
June 23, 2022
To all Members and Customers,
We recently lost one of our water wells and are in the process of drilling a new
well. In order to accommodate all of our customers water needs, we have
redistributed our water supply. While this has allowed us to continue to provide
water to all customers, this is causing some pressure issues for some customers.
The loss of the well combined with the current drought condition across Texas,
we are asking all of Brushy Creek WSC customers to voluntarily restrict
outside watering and conserve usage. These voluntary restrictions will remain in
effect until we get our new well up and running (estimate of two months from
now) and we have had sufficient rain to help replenish the aquifers.
So far this year we have pumped approximately seven million gallons more
than at this time last year. And, we have yet to reach the peak usage for the
summer season.
If customers do not commit to voluntarily reducing usage, then Brushy Creek
WSC will be forced to issue mandatory restrictive measures per our Drought
Contingency and Emergency Water Demand Management Plan.
Let’s all work together to accomplish this goal for Brushy Creek WSC. We thank
you for your understanding and cooperation.
